Speaking

    • Nearly twenty years ago, I was astonished someone demanded to pay me for the presentations I was freely delivering on leadership, risk, and wellness.  Since then, after I understood my gift for engaging with audiences, I’ve be hired to speak at corporate and governmental conferences and symposiums, universities, non-profits, civic groups, and schools.  From motivational and inspiring to educational, I focus on topics core to my life that include:

    • Risk – The importance of taking risk, what happens when we don’t, and the tools to do so successfully.  I draw on a lifetime of working in high-risk environments, from the summit ridge of Everest to the dim cockpit of a CV-22 Osprey to the emotional landscape of the psyche.

    • Mental Health - We’re in the midst of a mental health crisis where anxiety, burnout, depression, technological addiction, and a sense of not belonging are eroding the quality of life in children and adults.

Having gone through my own dark nights of the soul, especially around repressed emotion as a servicemember in combat, mixed with an unrecognized lack of belonging, I speak candidly and with authenticity about my struggles, how I overcame them, and activities to support preventative mental health.

    • I’m an advocate for proactive mental health in all humans, but I have a penchant for supporting current military servicemembers, first responders, and youth.

    • Workshops – in conjunction with presentations and keynotes, creating custom workshops and retreats to meet your needs is a favorite approach of mine.

These offerings are based on best practices in experiential education and support deep learning that goes far beyond simply listening to an engaging presentation.  Plus, they’re always a load of fun that boost teamwork and curiosity.

    • I’m honored to support community organizations, non-profits and youth programs for reduced or pro-bono rates.  Please contact me to see what we can make happen for your people.
